Users who pay close attention to Firefox all know that Mozilla has accelerated the development progress of Firefox. Starting from Firefox 5, Mozilla has planned to release one major version every 6 weeks. Now, Firefox 5 is in Beta testing phase. The official version will be released within a month.
At present, Mozilla has started the development of Firefox7. Asa Dotzler, executive of Mozilla community development, disclosed the news on twitter yesterday.
Dotzler noted that Firefox 5 is in Beta testing phase, and Firefox 6 is at the Aurora stage, while Firefox 7 is already in Nightly version development. Several hours later, he added on twitter that “we’ve already finished Nightly version. Now, Firefox 7 has accessed to the mozilla-central stage.”
Of course, it doesn’t mean that common users could obtain Firefox 6 or Firefox7 version to have a test. The current development version is still suitable for developer only. Dotzler just wants to tell us that Firefox 7.0 has been setting out.
According to the issued schedule of Mozilla, Firefox 5.0 will be release on June 21, Firefox 6.0 on August 16 and Firefox 7 will be officially released on September, 27.
